For troops/groups within the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois council that intend to travel as part of their Girl Scout activities
We are so glad you are planning to take your group on a new adventure! Please be sure you have completed the required training, Traveling with Troops, in gsLearn before completing this form.

This form must be submitted by any troop or group of registered Girl Scout members who intend to travel one overnight or longer, with the exception of staying at Camp Torqua. Every adult staying overnight MUST have a current, eligible background check on file with the council AND must complete Illinois Mandated Reporter.
Advance notice is required, as follows:

Tier 3 (longer overnight trip of 3+ nights) submit 6+ months prior to travel date; will require Plan 3P insurance

Tier 4 (any international trips) submit at least 1 year prior to travel date; will require Plan 3PI insurance

Tier 2 (short overnight trips that include one or two nights) submit 30 days prior to travel date.

Upon submitting this form, the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois council will review your request. After receiving approval, if your plans change, please submit a new Intent to Travel Form via this link. Obtaining Certificate of Insurance(s) may be required for your trip. A Certificate of Insurance (COI) is a form which identifies how much insurance the holder possesses. Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois is obligated to ensure, to the extent reasonably possible, that any site or facility, vendor or program provider we use is safe. For Troop Travel, a COI may be requested for: lodging, vendors, events at privately owned facilities (tours), rental of Facility or services, contract services (school bus rental), high-risk activities (horseback riding, rock climbing, rafting and any activities requiring waivers).
